HairS’25 – International Hair-Science Symposium

HAIRS'25 continues the long-standing tradition of Hair Science Conferences founded by the DWI (German Wool Research Institute). The conference will feature a comprehensive program addressing various scientific topics, including:

  • Hair biology
  • Insights into hair structure
  • Hair damage
  • New methods and technologies

International speakers will share their latest research findings, fostering an exchange of knowledge in the field of hair science.


Conference Highlights 2025

The three-day event includes 23 lectures, featuring three Plenary Lectures by distinguished experts:

  • Dr. Erik Schulze zur Wiesche: “A comparison between skin and hair corneocytes – what can we learn from each other?”
  • Regina Beetz: “Genetically determined hair changes”
  • Dr. Trefor Evans: “The Measurement Scientist in the Hair Care World: A retrospective from 33 years of performing measurements on hair”

In addition to the lectures, the event will feature a poster session and a dedicated exhibition area. An optional short training course will also be offered on Wednesday morning before the main program (not included).

Networking and Cultural Experiences

The program includes opportunities to connect with peers and explore the cultural heritage of Augsburg:

  • Wednesday evening: Get Together to kick off the event.
  • Thursday afternoon: A guided tour of Augsburg’s historic city center, followed by a brief tour of the renowned Fuggerei and dinner at Tafeldeckerei within its grounds.
  • Friday: The event concludes with the traditional Best Paper Award and a closing lunch.

HairS’25 combines impactful scientific insights with meaningful networking and cultural experiences. We look forward to welcoming you!
